Automation

Stop playing
phone tag to book.

Booking an appointment should not take four messages and a callback. This connects the way customers book to the calendar you already keep, then handles the confirmations and reminders without you touching them.

The problem

The admin is the job nobody quotes for.

Someone asks when you are free. You check the calendar, suggest a time, they come back the next day, it has gone. Three messages later you have booked twenty minutes of work and spent fifteen arranging it.

Automating this cuts the back-and-forth and the number of appointments people forget about. It does not end no-shows or double-bookings outright — a reminder helps, it does not compel anyone — and a calendar that is wrong will still produce a wrong booking faster than before.

How it works

From their question to your calendar.

They pick a time

A booking page shows only slots you are genuinely free for — read from your real calendar, not a list you maintain by hand.

It books itself in

The appointment lands in your calendar straight away and the slot disappears for everyone else.

Both sides get confirmation

They get the details and a way to change it. You get it on the calendar you already look at.

A reminder goes out

Before the appointment, a message nudges them. Fewer forgotten slots, and an easy way for them to move it rather than vanish.

What it does

Core, and what depends on your setup.

Core

  • A booking page that matches your site
  • Calendar sync so your real availability drives it
  • Automatic confirmations to both sides
  • Reminders before the appointment
  • Reschedule and cancel without messaging you

Depends on the platform

  • Intake questions before the appointment, so you arrive knowing the job
  • Different appointment types with different lengths and buffers
  • Travel time between jobs in different towns
  • Deposits or payment at the point of booking
  • Follow-up messages after the appointment
  • Several staff calendars in one booking page
A hypothetical, to show the shape of it

A detailing shop takes bookings by text. Each one costs three or four messages, and Saturday mornings get double-booked because two people agree the same slot before either is written down.

With a booking page, the Saturday slot can only be taken once. The intake question asks for the vehicle, so the right amount of time is set aside. The reminder goes out the evening before, and the customer who needs to move it does so without anyone being messaged at 9pm.

Invented to illustrate the workflow. Not a customer, and not a measured result.

Who it suits

Anyone whose day is a series of slots.

  • Contractors booking estimates and jobs
  • Salons, spas and wellness businesses
  • Professional offices with consultations
  • Auto repair and detailing shops
  • Consultants and anyone selling time
  • Businesses where scheduling has quietly become a part-time job
My work

Setup

Choosing a platform that fits how you actually work, connecting your calendar, building the booking page to match the site, writing the confirmations and reminders, then testing the whole path as a customer before it goes live.

Optional

Ongoing

Adjusting appointment types, buffers and messages as the business changes. Only if you want it.

Paid to them, not me

Platform fees

Booking platforms charge their own subscription, and some charge for SMS reminders. You hold the account and pay them directly.

Questions

Before you ask me.

Most platforms connect to Google and Microsoft calendars. If you keep a paper diary we should talk first — the automation is only as right as the calendar behind it.

Yes, and most businesses should. This adds a way to book, it does not remove the others. Anything you enter in the calendar blocks the slot online.

It reduces them, because people get a reminder and an easy way to move the appointment. Nothing makes them disappear, and I would not trust anyone who told you otherwise.

Setup is quoted per business, since the work depends on how many appointment types and calendars are involved. The platform bills you separately. The pricing page has the general range.

Then the page shows nothing available, which is its own kind of useful — people stop asking, or you open more slots.
